Robin as Teacher

Hello, I’m J. Robin Miller. I look forward to teaching your child or teen and coaching any age for auditions! Growing Actors is a fun happy place to learn about yourself creatively and about the craft of acting. Acting is about play, about truth and about growth.

I’ve been an actor and teacher for many years and love both the creativity that comes from practicing the craft of acting and teaching the craft. I ran a program in LA and Orange counties uniting working actors with newcomers for improv and on-camera workshops called LCA from 2000-2012. When I had my second child, I knew my teaching energies needed to be reserved for my two creative bundles of high drama but continued to explore how at all ages we experience our own path of creative expression.

Now I’m relaunching my acting classes and coaching sessions with new perspectives and ideas to truly help children and teens connect to their individuality, confidence and joy.

Robin as Actor

J. Robin Miller has devoted her time to motherhood and teaching most recently. Her last performance was in the feature film Someone Marry Barry with Tyler Labine and Lucy Punch and can be viewed on Hulu. Matumbo Goldberg, co-starring Anthony Anderson, is also a fun romp to stream on Vimeo where Miller plays Anderson’s adoptive mother. Miller may be best known for her role as Lydia Keranin Cassadine on ABC’s General Hospital, though her most fun job was playing the dim witted Bagel Girl on Just Shoot Me with comedy legend George Segal. Miller also enjoyed having the privilege of starring with Beyonce in a McDonald’s commercial for Ronald McDonald House.  Miller began her career as a child doing theater and local print work in Columbus, Ohio.  Miller studied acting in college at UCLA, USC, and Ohio University. In LA, Miller has studied with Lesly Kahn, Janet Alhanti, Margie Habor, Corey Allen, Stuart K. Robinson, UCB and The Groundlings.  Miller guest starred and recurred often on numerous popular dramas and comedies in the 90’s such as: Crossing Jordan, CSI , Just Shoot Me, Beverly Hills 90210, and That 7o’s Show and has appeared in many indy films, commercials, and unaired TV pilots.
